DTS uses optical fiber as a continuous temperature sensor. Selected fire-suitable configurations up to 10 km and the fourth-generation 12 km configuration can apply the same sensing and installation principles to Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detection (LHD); alarm zones, thresholds, response, fault monitoring and fire-system interfaces must meet applicable fire-alarm requirements. Existing 20/30 km long-range and oil/geothermal versions are not intended for this fire application.
