Measures continuous temperature profiles and abnormal-temperature locations along the fiber. Select range, fiber type, channels and sensing cable for the specified model.
Typical applications
For projects using single-mode sensing fiber, including submarine cables, data centers, storage tanks and pipelines.
Spatial resolution, sampling interval and location accuracy are distinct quantities. Temperature accuracy depends on fiber length, acquisition time, temperature range and cable configuration; optimum values are not necessarily simultaneous.
The nominal measuring range is 30 km. A 40 km fiber requires the applicable optional/custom configuration; far-end accuracy and acquisition time are project-specific.
Spatial resolution uses the 10%–90% step-response criterion and the ± spatial-extent notation used in this datasheet. Location accuracy is specified separately. Compare specifications using the same definitions and test conditions.
